Bob finished building the two rear raised beds today. He's lined them with membrane and filled with top soil so they are ready to go. No photo's as yet, as it was too dark. Will update when light allows, probably Saturday when I have another tidy up !
Bob dropped off the raised beds bases today. He will be popping back tomorrow to build the timer structure and then apply the log cladding.
I've prepared the groundworks today for Bob so he can deliver and install my 2 new raised beds later in the week. As you can see, it is coming along and it is certainly taking shape. Once the raised beds have been installed it will just be the paving to do, but that will only be done after the other building works have been done on the main house.
Yuk. It rained all day today. Well, I can't complain as i've been lucky with the weather so far. Today was just a major cleanup and tidy, to make some room for the builders whom start tomorrow on a small extension at the back of the house. They should now have enough room to work. I also made sure we have a nice pathway through the garden so if the dogs need to go out for a call of nature, they can get round without hurting themselves or getting too muddy whilst the works are progressing.
Not much more to do now in the garden. Bob Deakin from Landscapes by Design will be making 2 more raised beds to replace the plastic pots at the top of the garden later this week/early next week, and apart from when the slabs are re done in the Spring in the new year, after the other extension has been completed, and the rockery has been replanted, that will be it! I'll upload some photo's when I can get a decent light level to do so. Tony came round today to help me move the 2 tonne of slate chippings onto the new brick raised beds, and help me move a few heavy things around the garden.
Off work today so I can get all the plants in the ground, and then tomorrow Tony and myself can fill it with slate chippings.
No works outside today, just popping down to JTF to get the new pots/planters for the Tree Lily's. Thought I would have an evening off as i'm off work tomorrow, and it's my birthday today as well!
A quick tidy up this evening before the HippoBags are collected in the next few days. I have booked Friday off, so I can catchup with a few jobs in readiness for moving all the slate on Saturday with Tony.
Only a bit of work done tonight. I've finished the wall off behind the Camelia, so it will retain the slate when it is filled in on Saturday. I also tried to place the plants in place (in their pots) for the other beds, but due to the early sunset, I ran out of time again.
