Welcome to My Garden Website
My gardening website is a collection of my garden photo's, tips I have used over the years, plus lots of other gardening information, including which bugs are good, and which bugs are bad for your garden, handy hints on how to control the bad bugs, from simple companion planting, through to using chemicals, and using nature itself via biological control, as well as what to look out for in the greenhouse. There is also information on Carnivorous plants, and how they can help with the battle of the bugs, along with information on weeds.

I am also a member of the Kidderminster Horticultural Society, of which I was one of the members whom opened my garden to the public for a day on behalf of a charity event in 2012 to help raise over £5,000 for local charities. |
Vine Weevils. These are my arch enemy. They kill plants by munching around the stem. You only know that you have them if you notice the odd shaped bite marks on a plant, or when you come to touch a plant, the plant above soil simply comes away in your hand. Click here for more info, and also info on Armillatox, which is a safe chemical to deal with the Vine Weevil eggs. |
As with everyone, we all love to see colour in our garden, especially in the spring when the first of the plants awaken. One of my favourites are Daffodils for this early colour, and there are so many to choose from. Did you know that you can also force bulbs to flower early? If you plant bulbs in pots, why not try planting the pot with different types of bulbs to give the pot longevity. I also give my tips on how to look after and how to prune a Clematis, as well as how to look after a Poinsettia once it has had it's show over the Christmas period.

I also have a blog, which I update as and when anything new is added to the site, or something of significance has happened in the garden. |
