History
The Kidderminster Horticultural Society was started by a group of enthusiasts around 1912. The Society's records reach back as far as 1943, when two of the original members were Bernard Dads and Peter Carter.
The Society
They currently have around 600 members in the society. Talks and garden visits are very well attended and they often take upto 3 coaches per garden visit trip. Once a year, members also have the opportunity to sign up to a 5/6 day holiday. In previous years they have visited Cornwall, Sussex, Northumbria and Cumbria. Shows
A spring show is held at the Holy Innocents Community centre in July and a 2 day show at the Mercure Hotel in September.
Membership

Charity Events
Kidderminster Horticultural Society regularly hold a Garden Open Day, the proceeds from which are donated to a local charities. Over the last 10 years they have made total donations of more than £30,000. Hard working gardeners also generously make and sell cakes, teas, plant cuttings and trays of bedding plants as well as other surprise activities and raffles in order to assist with the fund-raising.
