Garden Pests & Bugs - Bad Bugs
Red Spider Mite
Causing yellow mottling on leaves, red spider mite can be a huge problem under glass in hot, dry weather. Use predatory mite Phytoselulus at temperatures between 16’C and 30’C. They’ll eat adult mites and their eggs and larvae. Gall midge, Feltiella, will also control red spider mites.

Scale Insect
These pests have a waxy ‘shield’ to protect them and affect both indoor and outdoor plants. Where temperatures remain above 14’C, control scale with microscopic worm like nematodes that are watered into the infected areas. In addition, there are parasitic wasps Metaphycus and Encyrtus, and scale eating beetle Chilocurus.
