Had a huge tidy up today, as well as fitting the locks and bolts to the new gate and cabin. The electrics went live today so I will be able to see what I am doing in the dark in the cabin now.
Tony came round today to help me shift some stuff around in the garden. The rear wall of the old raised bed has been removed, as has the cladding from the lower retaining wall, in readiness for Bob on Monday. Electrics being fitted to the cabin today (lights and power sockets).
The shed and porch were also dismantled today in readiness for the builders whom will be starting on the 14th October 2013 to extend the garage. It looks quite bare around there now. Bob's off doing some other small jobs today and tomorrow, as he needs me to move the plants and shift some stuff in the garden (plant pots etc) into the new cabin so he can make a start on the other retaining wall on Monday,
I'll be putting on the 1st stain on the inside of the cabin tonight, to give the wood a bit of protection. I'm off work tomorrow, so I can hopefully put the 2nd coat on, and get the cupboards up and stuff moved into the cabin. Luckily the weather forecast appeares to show it will be dry which will be a massive bonus. Bob fitted the front garden access gates fitted today. I have also had a gate fitted to the neighbours as well for the inconvenience and mess from when the fencing was done. It also makes our side more secure too.
Off to B&Q later to get a few locking bolts for the gate and cabin to ensure that it stays secure. Bob has fitted the potting table bench today, and finished off the insulation and walls. Stable door fitted as well, so the cabin is now completed.
Bob has fitted the insulation and the plyboard panelling today, to keep the cabin snug in the winter. I have re-routed the irrigation pipe by the front gate in readiness for Bob to start work on the gate later this week.
Today I filled in the rear retaining wall and planted it up with Holly Ferns and Viburnum's, plus Mom's Bottle Brush plant, plus other plants. Again a good tidy up and make some space for Bob tomorrow.
Tony came round today to give me a helping hand. We managed to plant the 6ft Euonymous by the side of the 'cabin', dug the buried slabs up, move 2 pallets of brick's to the rear of the house, plant some Hyperciums, and had a good tidy up as well. Quite a productive day today. Thanks Tony. Couldn't have done it without you today.
