The new planter has been built (the trellis you see is attached to the back of the planter so it can be moved on the wheels that have been attached to the base). The new clematis and geraniums have been planted, and they all seem to be doing well.
The cucumbers have done well again this year, and are still coming strong. I did not plant as many as last year, as we were overrun with them. These Marketmore variety, maybe a bit prickly to pick, but they taste devine. Totally burpless as well, and as smooth and juicy as melon.
This year, the tomatoes made a really good start. Plenty of fruit came, but only to be let down by the lack of sun this summer. I think we may be making some chutney, as i'm not going to waste them.
As a change, I thought i'd try Broccoli this year. It has done really well, and to be honest, I can't eat supermarket broccoli, but this tastes completely different to that. It is more like asparagus. Very, very nice indeed !
